Chester Taekwon-do is a family friendly club, offering modern and professional martial arts training in Chester.  We run classes on Monday and Wednesday evenings, in Upton and Handbridge, for kids aged 6 to 12 years and separate classes for teenagers and adults. 



Our instructors are CRB checked for child protection. 
New members are always welcome and the classes cater for people of all abilities and fitness levels. 
No experience is required and all new members will receive a completely free, trial lesson.

Our senior instructor is Mr Jonathan Emm (IV dan), who is a qualifed international instructor with over 13 years of teaching experience.  He co-founded Chester club in 2005 and the club has now produced more than a dozen black belts.  Mr Emm has won many medals at tournaments in the UK and abroad, and represented England at the GTF World Championships in Italy, 2000.  He has also trained with several of the world's most famous and respected Grand Masters.  Our students have also had great tournament success, winning many medals and trophies.  We have two junior England squad members, who both won international gold medals in 2010, including one at the TKD International World Championships!

We practice traditional, ITF Taekwon-do, as developed by General Choi Hong Hi and his pioneering masters in Korea.  We are part of the Trident Taekwon-do Academy, which is a group of clubs in Cheshire and Greater Manchester, including a full time Taekwon-do academy in Sale.  Nationally, we are part of Taekwon-do United Kingdom (T-UK) and globally we are members of the International Taekwon-do Federation (ITF), which was founded by General Choi Hong Hi in 1966.  These regional, national and global affiliations ensure that our students have the very best tuition and opportunities available.
